(a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this code, a person who holds a license under this subchapter and who writes only life insurance policies and fixed annuity contracts to secure the delivery of funeral services and merchandise under prepaid funeral contracts regulated by the Texas Department of Banking under Chapter 154, Finance Code, is not required to comply with any continuing education requirements to maintain the license, except that the appointing insurer must educate its appointed agents about any new products sold by the agent to fund prepaid funeral contracts.
(b) A license holder to whom this section applies may be appointed by more than one insurer.

- Annuity: A periodic (usually annual) payment of a fixed sum of money for either the life of the recipient or for a fixed number of years. A series of payments under a contract from an insurance company, a trust company, or an individual. Annuity payments are made at regular intervals over a period of more than one full year.
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
