Terms Used In 12 CFR Part 224 - Borrowers of Securities Credit (Regulation X)

  • Appellate: About appeals; an appellate court has the power to review the judgement of another lower court or tribunal.
  • Deposition: An oral statement made before an officer authorized by law to administer oaths. Such statements are often taken to examine potential witnesses, to obtain discovery, or to be used later in trial.
  • Federal Reserve System: The central bank of the United States. The Fed, as it is commonly called, regulates the U.S. monetary and financial system. The Federal Reserve System is composed of a central governmental agency in Washington, D.C.
