This chapter does not and shall not be construed as creating a private cause of action and does not and shall not require insurers, including any health benefit plan, to extend coverage to any providers or type of providers for which coverage is not specifically provided within the policy or certificate of insurance or health benefit plan, or to add additional providers to existing networks, or to add any health care benefits.

Terms Used In Alabama Code 27-55-8
- HEALTH BENEFIT PLAN: A policy, contract, certificate, or agreement offered by a health carrier to provide, deliver, arrange, pay for, or reimburse any of the costs of health care services or health care benefit. See Alabama Code 27-55-2
- policy: A contract of insurance, certificate, indemnity, suretyship, or annuity issued, proposed for issuance, or intended for issuance by an insurer, including endorsements or riders to an insurance policy or contract. See Alabama Code 27-55-2
