(a) The board may issue a temporary permit, nonrenewable and valid for a period not exceeding six months, to an applicant for a license by endorsement if the applicant

  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
(1) submits proof satisfactory to the board that the applicant is currently licensed in another state under Alaska Stat. § 08.68.200(a);
(2) meets the requirements of Alaska Stat. § 08.68.170; and
(3) pays the required fee.
(b) The board may issue a nonrenewable permit to an applicant for license by examination if the applicant meets the qualifications of Alaska Stat. § 08.68.170. The permit is valid for a period not to exceed six months or the date on which the results of the licensing examination taken by the applicant are received by the applicant, whichever is sooner. If the applicant does not take the examination for which the applicant is scheduled, the permit lapses on the day of the examination.
