Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 09.50.280

  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • Plaintiff: The person who files the complaint in a civil lawsuit.
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

If judgment is rendered for the plaintiff, it shall be for the legal amount found due from the state with interest as provided under Alaska Stat. § 09.30.070 and without punitive damages.
