Alaska Statutes 11.56.715 – Defense to harming a police dog

It is a defense to a prosecution under Alaska Stat. § 11.56.705 or 11.56.710 that the conduct of the defendant

(1) conformed to accepted veterinary practice; or

Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
peace officer: means
(A) an officer of the state troopers. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

(2) was in response to a direct attack on the defendant by a police dog not acting under the control of a peace officer.
