Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 14.43.400

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

There is created the Alaska education grant program to provide financial assistance to eligible students to enable them to attend, or continue their attendance at, postsecondary educational institutions. Funds designated by the corporation or appropriated for this program may be used as matching funds for the state‘s participation in the federal grant program under 20 U.S.C. § 1070c1070c-4.
