  • municipality: means a political subdivision incorporated under the laws of the state that is a home rule or general law city, a home rule or general law borough, or a unified municipality. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

An urban renewal project undertaken pursuant to Alaska Stat. § 18.55.680 shall be undertaken in accordance with an urban renewal plan for the area of the project. As used in Alaska Stat. § 18.55.48018.55.960 an “urban renewal plan” means a plan for an urban renewal project, which (1) conforms to the general plan for the municipality as a whole; and (2) is sufficiently complete to indicate the land acquisition, demolition and removal of structures, redevelopment, improvements, and rehabilitation that are proposed in the area of the urban renewal project, zoning, and planning changes, if any, land uses, maximum densities, building requirements, and the plan’s relationship to definite local objectives respecting appropriate land uses, improved traffic, public transportation, public utilities, recreational and community facilities, and other public improvements. An urban renewal plan shall be prepared and approved pursuant to the same procedure as provided in Alaska Stat. § 18.55.48018.55.960 for a redevelopment plan.
