Alaska Statutes 39.35.546 – State and federal taxation of benefits

(a) Benefits of Alaska Stat. § 39.35.095 – 39.35.680 are exempt from Alaska state and municipal income taxes.

state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

(b) Benefits paid under Alaska Stat. § 39.35.095 – 39.35.680 may be subject to federal income taxes as provided in 26 U.S.C. § 72.
