(a)Alaska Stat. § 45.50.91045.50.945 displace conflicting tort, restitutionary, and other state laws pertaining to civil liability for misappropriation of a trade secret.

Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 45.50.930

  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
  • Tort: A civil wrong or breach of a duty to another person, as outlined by law. A very common tort is negligent operation of a motor vehicle that results in property damage and personal injury in an automobile accident.
(b)Alaska Stat. § 45.50.91045.50.945 do not affect

(1) contractual or other civil liability or relief that is not based upon misappropriation of a trade secret; or
(2) criminal liability for misappropriation of a trade secret.
(c)Alaska Stat. § 45.50.91045.50.945 do not apply to investigations or actions by the attorney general under Alaska Stat. § 45.50.47145.50.561 (Alaska Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Act) or under Alaska Stat. § 45.50.56245.50.596 (Alaska Restraint of Trade Act).
