The board shall require as a condition to the renewal of each applicator‘s license that the holder thereof submit proof satisfactory to the board that he or she has completed courses of continuing education in pesticide application and use approved by the board or equivalent activity approved by the board. In lieu of submitting that proof, the licenseholder, if he or she so desires, may successfully apply for and pass an appropriate applicator’s examination for renewal of a license given by the board.

- board: means any entity listed in Section 101, the entities referred to in Sections 1000 and 3600, the State Bar, the Department of Real Estate, and any other state agency that issues a license, certificate, or registration authorizing a person to engage in a business or profession. - license: means license, certificate, registration, or other means to engage in a business or profession regulated by this code or referred to in Section 1000 or 3600. See California Business and Professions Code 23.7
