  • ammunition: includes , but is not limited to, any bullet, cartridge, magazine, clip, speed loader, autoloader, or projectile capable of being fired from a firearm with a deadly consequence. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 30176.1
  • firearm: includes the frame or receiver of the weapon:

  • handgun: means any pistol, revolver, or firearm capable of being concealed upon the person. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 30266
  • insurance agent: as used in this chapter does not include a life agent as defined in this article. See California Insurance Code 1621
  • license: includes a certificate of convenience and a permanent license, and the term "persons who are licensed" includes the holders of any such certificate or the license, but these definitions and the use of those terms in this chapter shall not confer upon a certificate of convenience or any holder thereof any property right in or to the certificate, the certificate being and remaining only a temporary permit, issued as a matter of convenience, allowing the transaction of insurance without a permanent license, but within the limits, and subject to the conditions of the certificate of convenience issued and the laws applicable thereto.   • local agency: means any city, county, city and county, district, or other subdivision of the state, or any independent instrumentality thereof. See California Penal Code 26525
  • locked container: means a secure container that is fully enclosed and locked by a padlock, keylock, combination lock, or similar locking device. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 30351
  • organization: means any legal entity other than a natural person. See California Insurance Code 1628
  • prohibited area: means any place where it is unlawful to discharge a weapon. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 30367
  • safety: is a utomatically applied by the pistol, this feature shall not be defeated. See California Penal Code 31900
  • Salesperson: when used without modification, means a person licensed as a salesperson under any of the provisions of this part. See California Government Code 53090
