If the operation of a conveyance during the making of repairs or alterations is not immediately dangerous to the safety of persons, the division may issue a temporary permit for its operation for a period not to exceed 30 days during the making of repairs or alterations.

Terms Used In California Labor Code 7308

  • Conveyance: means any elevator, dumbwaiter, escalator, moving platform lift, stairway chairlift, material lift or dumbwaiter with automatic transfer device, automated people mover, or other equipment subject to this chapter. See California Labor Code 7300.1
  • Division: means the Division of Occupational Safety and Health. See California Labor Code 7300.1
  • Permit: means a document issued by the division that indicates that the conveyance has had the required safety inspection and tests and fees have been paid as set forth in this chapter. See California Labor Code 7300.1
