There shall be securely attached to the outside window sills or frames of the window of any building, rings, bolts, lugs, fittings, or other devices to which may be fastened safety belts or other devices to be used, or which may hereafter be used by persons engaged in cleaning windows. The division shall, prior to the installation of any such bolts, lugs, rings, fittings, or other devices, approve such bolts, lugs, rings, fittings, or other devices as to their design, durability, and safety. Except as provided in § 18930 of the Health and Safety Code, the division shall by appropriate rules and orders designate the manner in which said safety devices are to be attached, installed, and used.

Terms Used In California Labor Code 7326

  • Building: as used in this chapter , means any building three stories or more in height, and whether heretofore constructed or hereafter to be constructed, including commercial buildings of all types, office buildings, apartment houses, hotels and buildings used for manufacturing purposes, but excluding dwelling houses occupied by not more than three families, and excluding all buildings constructed with windows that may be, and are, entirely washed and cleaned from inside the building or from a sitting position on the window sill in the manner provided by safety orders issued, or which may be issued from time to time, by the division.
