The proper county for the commencement of a guardianship or conservatorship proceeding for a resident of this state is either of the following:
(a) The county in which the proposed ward or proposed conservatee resides.
Terms Used In California Probate Code 2201
- Conservatee: includes a limited conservatee. See California Probate Code 29
- State: includes any state of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and any territory or possession subject to the legislative authority of the United States. See California Probate Code 74
(b) Such other county as may be in the best interests of the proposed ward or proposed conservatee.
