“Board” means a board of park commissioners, park department, or other similar municipal authority, whether composed of one or more individuals, having control of or jurisdiction over, or charged with the duty of superintending, directing, planting, maintaining, removing and otherwise caring for the parks, trees, shrubs and vegetation within a city.

- Department: means the Department of Transportation of this state. See California Streets and Highways Code 20
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
