The commissioner and the director of any local civil preparedness organization may make agreements with the federal government or any agency or officer thereof to provide storage space on state or local premises, as the case may be, for federally-owned supplies and equipment to be used for civil preparedness purposes, provided such space shall be available without additional cost to the state and provided the commissioner or such director may revoke any such agreement upon thirty days’ notice if such space is required for state or local use.

Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 28-20

  • Civil preparedness: means all those activities and measures designed or undertaken (A) to minimize or control the effects upon the civilian population of major disaster or emergency, (B) to minimize the effects upon the civilian population caused or which would be caused by an attack upon the United States, (C) to deal with the immediate emergency conditions which would be created by any such attack, major disaster or emergency, and (D) to effectuate emergency repairs to, or the emergency restoration of, vital utilities and facilities destroyed or damaged by any such attack, major disaster or emergency.
