(a) A museum may give notice by publication under this chapter if the museum does not:

(1) Know the identity of the lender or any designated agent of the lender;

(2) Have an address last known for the lender or any designated agent of the lender; or

(3) Receive proof of receipt of the notice by the person to whom the notice was sent within 30 days after the notice was mailed.

  • Person: means a natural person, partnership (whether general or limited), limited liability company, trust (including a common law trust, business trust, statutory trust, voting trust or any other form of trust), estate, association (including any group, organization, co-tenancy, plan, board, council or committee), corporation, government (including a country, state, county or any other governmental subdivision, agency or instrumentality), custodian, nominee or any other individual or entity (or series thereof) in its own or any representative capacity, in each case, whether domestic or foreign. (b) Notice by publication under subsection (a) of this section must be given at least once a week for 2 consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in:

(1) The county in which the museum is located; and

(2) The county of the lender’s last known address, if the identity of the lender is known.
