§ 450. Definitions. For the purposes of this article: (1) the term "correction officer" shall mean members of the New York state and local employees' retirement system who are in a plan limited to uniformed personnel in institutions under the jurisdiction of the department of corrections and community supervision or members of such system who are also in titles defined in subdivision i of section eighty-nine of this chapter and correction members of the New York city employees' retirement system; (2) the term "police officer or firefighter" shall mean members of the New York state and local police and fire retirement system, the New York city police pension fund, New York city fire department pension fund, and housing police members and transit police members of the New York city employees' retirement system; (3) the term "sanitation man" shall mean sanitation members of the New York city employees' retirement system; and (4) the term "investigator member" shall mean members who are police officers as defined in paragraph (g) of subdivision thirty-four of § 1.20 of the criminal procedure law.
