Terms Used In N.Y. Uniform Commercial Code 11-101

  • Uniform Commercial Code: A set of statutes enacted by the various states to provide consistency among the states' commercial laws. It includes negotiable instruments, sales, stock transfers, trust and warehouse receipts, and bills of lading. Source: OCC

As used in this Article 11:

(a) The term "Original Article 9" means Article 9 of the uniform commercial code as enacted by chapter five hundred fifty-three of the laws of nineteen hundred sixty-two and as amended by chapter eight hundred ninety-nine of the laws of nineteen hundred seventy.

(b) The term "Revised Article 9" means Article 9 of the uniform commercial code as amended by the act enacting this Article.
