Terms Used In Florida Statutes 394.924

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
If any section, subsection, or provision of this part is held to be unconstitutional or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining portions of this part shall be unaffected because the Legislature declares that the provisions of this part are severable from each other.
