- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
NOTE: GC § 53650, et seq., appeared in Title LVI,, 1970 Ed. in Chapter I, Hotel Corporation; these section numbers were again used when The Tax Preparer Act was enacted by P.L. 13-92, as is reflected in source notes for the following chapter. Title LVI, concerning Hotel Corporation, was repealed by P.L. 16-87.
