Terms Used In 12 Guam Code Ann. § 11116

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Public defender: Represent defendants who can't afford an attorney in criminal matters.
The Public Defender Corporation shall not charge claimants for its general costs or services or require a claimant to repay any filing fees or other court related fees incurred in the representa- tion of the claimant. The Corporation may require assistance from any department or agency of the government of Guam in fulfilling its responsibility pursuant to this Chapter.
