Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 516-64
- Lessee: means any person to whom land is leased or subleased, and the lessee's heirs, successors, legal representatives, and assigns. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 516-1
- Lessor: means any person who leases or subleases land to another, and the lessor's heirs, successors, legal representatives, and assigns. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 516-1
No forfeiture of the lessee‘s interest in a leasehold shall be declared by the lessor for the lessee’s failure to pay the rent or otherwise to perform the lessee’s obligations under the lease, unless the lessor has given written notification to the lessee of the default and has given the lessee at least thirty days within which to correct the default.
