Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 110 ILCS 45/3

  • Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     Whenever any such resolution shall have been adopted by such board of trustees, a certified copy thereof, verified by the affidavit of the president of the board and under the corporate seal of such college, seminary or academy, shall be filed in the office of the Secretary of State, and a like copy filed in the office of the recorder of the county where such college, seminary or academy is located upon the filing of such certified copies, the number of trustees specified in the resolution so adopted shall be and become the legal number of trustees of such college, seminary or academy.
