Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 205 ILCS 635/4-14

  • Mortgage: The written agreement pledging property to a creditor as collateral for a loan.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     Unless exempt from licensure under this Act, no person engaged in or offering to engage in any act or service, for which a license under this Act is required, may bring or maintain any action in any court of this State to collect compensation for the performance of the licensable services without alleging and proving that he or she was the holder of a valid Residential Mortgage License under this Act at all times during the performance of those services.
