- State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
Beginning on March 1, 1984 and annually thereafter, the Department shall notify each county, municipality, and township of all State legislation that has taken effect during the preceding 12 months that in the Department’s view directly affects or has significant impact upon the functioning of local governments. Notice shall be provided by delivering, by mail or otherwise, to each such unit of local government a listing of the legislation.
