Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 310 ILCS 10/33

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
     In addition to the powers conferred by other provisions of this Act, a Housing Authority may develop affordable housing for community college students in coordination with the board of trustees of any community college within the Housing Authority’s jurisdiction.
