Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 310 ILCS 67/51

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
     A non-exempt local government may develop affordable housing for community college students in coordination with a nonprofit affordable housing developer and the Housing Authority having jurisdiction of the area designated for the proposed affordable housing development.
