Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 420 ILCS 40/27

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
     The Agency is authorized to enter at all reasonable times upon any private or public property for the purpose of determining whether or not there is compliance with or violation of the provisions of this Act and rules and regulations issued thereunder. The Agency may inspect and investigate premises, operations, and personnel and have access to and copy records for the purpose of evaluating past, current, and potential hazards to the public health, workers, or the environment resulting from radiation. Entry into areas under the jurisdiction of the Federal Government shall be effected only with the concurrence of the Federal Government or its duly designated representative.
