Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 610 ILCS 25/3

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     Such consolidated corporation shall at all times keep a general office within this state, at which shall be kept a complete list of all stockholders of such corporation, their places of residence, the amount of stock owned by each, and where the stock of such corporation may be registered and transferred: Provided, that nothing contained in this bill shall be construed to impair or affect the rights of any party holding unsettled claims against any of the corporations to be consolidated.
