Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 730 ILCS 125/2.1
- State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
The sheriff of each county in this State shall be the warden of any new jail facility constructed or otherwise acquired in the county and shall have the custody of all prisoners in that facility, except when otherwise provided in Division 3-15 of the Counties Code.
