Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 765 ILCS 230/3

  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • United States: may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     If any person shall willfully deface, injure or remove any signal, monument, building, or other property of the United States coast and geodetic survey, constructed or used under or by virtue of the acts of congress aforesaid, he shall forfeit a sum not exceeding $50 for each offense, and shall be liable for damages sustained by the United States, in a civil action in the circuit court.
