Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 805 ILCS 20/7

  • Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     Upon the hearing of the complaint the court may order a dissolution of such corporation, and upon notice by the Attorney General in writing of such order being filed with the Secretary of State and entered upon the records of his office, the dissolution of such corporation shall be complete.
