Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 820 ILCS 305/19.1

  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
  • Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
     The time within which any act is required to be performed under any of the provisions of this Act shall be computed by excluding the first day and including the last, unless the last day is Saturday, Sunday or is a holiday as defined or fixed in any statute now or hereafter in force in this State, and then such days shall also be excluded. If the day succeeding such holiday is also a holiday then such succeeding day shall also be excluded.
