Terms Used In Indiana Code 11-10-13-3

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
   Sec. 3. The department shall provide each court with jurisdiction over felony and misdemeanor cases with a report enumerating the average daily costs of incarcerating an offender.
