- Sheriff: means the sheriff of the county or another person authorized to perform sheriff's duties. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
Sec. 11. This chapter does not limit or impair the statutory authority of any elected official, including the county sheriff‘s authority over the county jail and persons confined in the jail.
