Terms Used In Indiana Code 16-18-2-267

  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • minor: means a person less than eighteen (18) years of age. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
   Sec. 267. “Parental consent”, for purposes of IC 16-34, means the notarized written consent of the parent or legal guardian of an unemancipated pregnant woman less than eighteen (18) years of age to the performance of an abortion on the minor pregnant woman or for the final disposition of the aborted fetus by interment in compliance with IC 23-14-54 or cremation through a licensee (as defined in IC 25-15-2-19) and in compliance with IC 23-14-31.
