- benefits: means the money payments payable to an eligible individual as provided in this article with respect to his unemployment. See Indiana Code 22-4-2-1
- Remuneration: whenever used in this article , unless the context clearly denotes otherwise, means all compensation for personal services, including but not limited to commissions, bonuses, dismissal pay, vacation pay, sick pay (subject to the provisions of section 2(c)(1) of this chapter) payments in lieu of compensation for services, and cash value of all compensation paid in any medium other than cash. Sec. 1. Except as provided in IC 22-4-39, any agreement by an individual to waive, release or commute the individual’s rights to benefits or any other rights under this article is void. Any agreement by any individual in the employ of any person or concern to pay all or any portion of an employer’s contributions required under this article from the employer is void. No employer may make or require or accept any deduction from the remuneration of individuals in the employer’s employ to finance the employer’s contributions required from the employer, or require or accept any waiver by any individual in the employer’s employ of any right under this article.
