  • industrial hygiene: means the science and practice of anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling the environmental factors and stresses arising in or from the workplace that may cause sickness, impaired health and well-being, or significant discomfort among workers and the general community.    Sec. 8. As used in this chapter, “industrial hygienist (IH)” means a person who has the education and experience to practice industrial hygiene.
