Terms Used In Indiana Code 33-31-1-8

  • Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
   Sec. 8. When a trial is begun and in progress at the time when by law, the term of the court would expire, the term shall be extended until the close of the trial.
