Terms Used In Indiana Code 34-43.5-1-2

  • Tort: A civil wrong or breach of a duty to another person, as outlined by law. A very common tort is negligent operation of a motor vehicle that results in property damage and personal injury in an automobile accident.
   Sec. 2. This chapter applies to a cause of action in tort, including a medical malpractice action under IC 34-18-8.
