Sec. 1. (a) The jury venire called by a court may be used in civil or criminal cases.
For details, see Ind. Code § 35-50-2-6(1) murder or a Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4, or Level 5 felony, the jury shall consist of twelve (12) qualified jurors unless the defendant and prosecuting attorney agree to a lesser number; or

Terms Used In Indiana Code 35-37-1-1
- Attorney: includes a counselor or other person authorized to appear and represent a party in an action or special proceeding. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
- Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
