Terms Used In Indiana Code 35-40-4-2

  • Indictment: The formal charge issued by a grand jury stating that there is enough evidence that the defendant committed the crime to justify having a trial; it is used primarily for felonies.
   Sec. 2. “Accused” means that an indictment or information charging a person with a crime or a petition alleging that a child is a delinquent child has been filed.
