Terms Used In Indiana Code 5-10.1-2-2

  • Agreement: as used in this article means the federal-state agreement specified in chapter 2 of this article. See Indiana Code 5-10.1-1-10
  • Federal administrator: as used in this article means the federal security administrator and includes the secretary of health, education, and welfare of the United States and any individual to whom the federal security administrator has delegated any of his functions under the Social Security Act with respect to coverage of employees of a state and its political subdivisions. See Indiana Code 5-10.1-1-5
  • Social Security Act: as used in this article means the act of Congress approved August 14, 1935, chapter 531, 49 Stat. See Indiana Code 5-10.1-1-9
  • State agency: as used in this article means the Indiana public retirement system. See Indiana Code 5-10.1-1-8
   Sec. 2. Authorization. The state agency with the approval of the governor may enter into a federal-state agreement with the federal administrator to extend the benefits of the Social Security Act to the employees of the state and its political subdivisions.
