§ 8-10-2-1	Authority for construction or improvement; reimbursement for damages to public or private facilities

Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). ^{Source: OCC}
port project: as used in this article , shall be deemed to include the construction of a new canal or canals or the improvement of any canal, river, or other waterway, or both, including but not limited to dredging and all other work required in the design and construction of wharves, docks, piers, warehouses, and other facilities for the unloading of barges and other boats. Property: includes personal and real property. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.
