1. Collective bargaining agreements shall be in writing and shall be signed by the parties.

Terms Used In Iowa Code 20.29

  • Board: means the public employment relations board established under section 20. See Iowa Code 20.3
  • Employee organization: means an organization of any kind in which public employees participate and which exists for the primary purpose of representing employees in their employment relations. See Iowa Code 20.3
  • Internet: means the federated international system that is composed of allied electronic communication networks linked by telecommunication channels, that uses standardized protocols, and that facilitates electronic communication services, including but not limited to use of the world wide web; the transmission of electronic mail or messages; the transfer of files and data or other electronic information; and the transmission of voice, image, and video. See Iowa Code 4.1
  • Public employer: means the state of Iowa, its boards, commissions, agencies, departments, and its political subdivisions including school districts and other special purpose districts. See Iowa Code 20.3
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the said district and territories. See Iowa Code 4.1
 2. A copy of a collective bargaining agreement entered into between a public employer and a certified employee organization and made final under this chapter shall be filed with the board by the public employer within ten days of the date on which the agreement is entered into.
 3. Copies of collective bargaining agreements entered into between the state and the state employees’ bargaining representatives and made final under this chapter shall be filed with the secretary of state and be made available to the public at cost.
 4. The board shall maintain an internet site that allows searchable access to a database of collective bargaining agreements and other collective bargaining information.
