Terms Used In Iowa Code 237.6
- Administrator: means the administrator of that division of the department designated by the director of human services to administer this chapter or the administrator's designee. See Iowa Code 237.1
- Child: means child as defined in section 234. See Iowa Code 237.1
- Child foster care: means the provision of parental nurturing, including but not limited to the furnishing of food, lodging, training, education, supervision, treatment, or other care, to a child on a full-time basis by a person, including a relative of the child if the relative is licensed under this chapter, but not including a guardian of the child. See Iowa Code 237.1
- Facility: means the personnel, program, physical plant, and equipment of a licensee. See Iowa Code 237.1
- Licensee: means an individual or an agency licensed by the administrator under this chapter. See Iowa Code 237.1
A licensee shall not furnish child foster care in a building or on premises not designated in the license. A licensee shall not furnish child foster care to a greater number of children than is designated in the license, unless the administrator so authorizes. Multiple licenses authorizing separate and distinct parts of a facility to provide different categories of child foster care may be issued.
