Terms Used In Iowa Code 327G.9

  • Continuance: Putting off of a hearing ot trial until a later time.
  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Days: means calendar days. See Iowa Code 322G.2
 If the railroad corporation refuses or neglects to comply with any provision of this chapter relating to the fencing of the tracks, such railroad corporation shall, upon conviction, be subject to a schedule “two” penalty and every thirty dayscontinuance of such refusal or neglect shall constitute a separate and distinct offense.
