As used in this chapter:
 1. “Area” means an area of land or water or both land and water.

Terms Used In Iowa Code 465C.1

  • Area: means an area of land or water or both land and water. See Iowa Code 465C.1
  • Board: means the state advisory board for preserves established by this chapter. See Iowa Code 465C.1
  • Commission: means the natural resource commission. See Iowa Code 465C.1
  • Dedication: means the allocation of an area as a preserve by a public agency or by a private owner by written stipulation in a form approved by the state advisory board for preserves. See Iowa Code 465C.1
  • Department: means department of natural resources created under section 455A. See Iowa Code 465C.1
  • Director: means director of the department. See Iowa Code 465C.1
  • Owner: means a person, other than a lienholder, having the property right in or title to a motorboat or vessel. See Iowa Code 462A.2
  • Preserve: means an area of land or water formally dedicated under this chapter for maintenance as nearly as possible in its natural condition though it need not be completely primeval in character at the time of dedication or an area which has unusual flora, fauna, geological, archaeological, scenic, or historical features of scientific or educational value. See Iowa Code 465C.1
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the said district and territories. See Iowa Code 4.1
 2. “Board” means the state advisory board for preserves established by this chapter.
